Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 1 May 2025
Biomicrology is committed to making its website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We work to ensure our digital content meets or exceeds the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and aligns with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
Our Target Standard
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across our public website. This includes:
- Perceivable content — text alternatives for non-text content, sufficient colour contrast, resizable text
- Operable interface — keyboard navigation, sufficient time to read content, no content that causes seizures
- Understandable content — readable language, predictable navigation, input assistance
- Robust markup — compatible with current and future assistive technologies
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas are still being improved:
- [TBD — list specific known issues as identified during audit, e.g. “Some data visualisations in the dashboard do not yet have text alternatives”]
We are actively working to address these issues and will update this statement as improvements are made.
